Privacy Policy – PromptWizard

PromptWizard ("we", "our", or "the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

1. What Data We Collect

2. What We Do NOT Collect

We do not store your source code
We do not store your prompts or refined outputs
We do not collect your name, location, or any identifier beyond your email
We do not use cookies or tracking pixels
We do not sell your data to any third party

3. How the Extension Works

When you refine a prompt, the Extension runs a local file discovery process entirely on your machine (Pass 1). Only the top 5 most relevant files are then sent — along with your raw prompt — to our API hosted on Vercel. The API generates a refined prompt and returns it. No code or prompt text is logged or retained after the response is sent.

5. Data Retention

Your account data (email, plan, usage count) is retained for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your data from Supabase within 7 days. Payment records are retained by Paddle according to their own retention policies.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and associated data
Withdraw consent at any time by uninstalling the Extension and cancelling your subscription

7. Security

All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS. Supabase stores data with industry-standard encryption at rest. Your auth token is stored locally in VS Code's secure settings storage and is never transmitted except as a bearer token to our API.

8. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
